5 Tips on How to Celebrate Mom This Mother’s Day

Through them we came into this world, they fed us, they spent sleepless nights with us, taught us most of what we know and continue to nurture us. Oh! The glory of a mother. Now that we are grown it’s such a joy to celebrate the wonder that is Mum. At Ellie Bianca we understand the value of a mother in the society. We are beguiled by their strength, multifaceted nature, resilience and nurturing spirits continue to be sources of great inspiration. We are enthralled by her, wearer of many hats, wise, complex, energetic, always serving others and often times forgetting herself.

Now, social distancing has come at a high cost for many. Aside from not being able to see friends and go out. It hits the hardest for families, not being able to be close to your mum has been a hard price to pay as a result of this pandemic. We can no longer drive down to mums and get that hug, “borrow” some supplies and raid the fridge. What is worse is the option of quality time over Mother’s Day seems impossible.

But just because you may be socially distant from mum this Mother’s Day that doesn’t mean it has to fall by the wayside entirely. Here are 5 unconventional ways to spend with mum this Mother’s Day.

  1. Arrange a zoom date

Plan a date and specific time so that you and mum can get time to giggle and catch up. Technology has made it so that we can come together and see each other and do everything minus the physical touch and the smell of mums cooking.

  2. Online games

Missing board games with mum? Thanks to the wonders that is technology you can all come together and hop into a game room and play as a family. There is a wide array to choose from, from the old classics such as Ludo to coin master and many more. And we’ve found that despite the distance the victory still tastes as sweet, maybe even sweeter.

  3. Make her a selfcare package :

Thankfully the postal system is still working. You may not be able to go by mums and give her a hug. But you can send her a lovely care package. A nice body scrub, chocolates, and a great oil to keep her glowing. Ellie Bianca has specifically formulated a new all-natural serum with mum’s skin care needs in mind.

At the core of this serum is, Moringa, which has constituted a large number of African recipes, remedies and ointments. It has powerful anti-aging properties that protect the skin against free radicals, reducing the visible signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles. Its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties even help improve acne prone skin. It also has squalane which prevents moisture loss and boosts cell regeneration, it is great for soothing sensitive or irritated skin furthermore, it improves circulation which enhances skin elasticity.

  4. Movie Night:

You can re live the joy of childhood by getting to watch one of the family classics that you watched as a family in the past.

  5. Go to the museum:

Yes, you heard us right. Again, thanks to the brilliance of technology you can share your screen and you and mum get a virtual tour of the Louvre Museum or perhaps get the chance to check off the Sistene Chapel off your bucket list. This will make for a great time together and an opportunity for a conversation sparked by art.

However you choose to spend it we hope you have a great one!
