Suzie’s

Inventiveness like Suzie’s is a family heritage. Way back in the 18th century, Jacobus Barhyte, a Southern German immigrant and pioneer settler of Yaddo (now known as Saratoga Springs, New York) created their original Sweet ‘n Sour Mustard Sauce. Since then, with generations of the mustard sauce recipe carried down- Jan and Susan (Suzie) Barhyte first publicly shared their mustards in the late 1970s on the table at their Swift & Martin Station Deli in Pendleton, Oregon. In 1995, Suzie Barhyte joined forces with her daughter-in-law and son, Irene and Chris Barhyte. From there, Irene has continued the women-owned legacy and helped Barhyte Specialty Foods grow with new Suzie’s sauces ever since.

Truff started as @sauce on Instagram where they would post amazing food and pop culture content. Suddenly, it took off with a cult-like audience. Once founders Nick Guillen and Nick Ajluni built that following, they decided to create an upscale, lifestyle hot sauce. They wanted to make a sauce that was special enough to elevate the category as a whole and heighten the senses when paired with a dish.
